Am I immediately registered once I have applied?
No, the GP practice reviews your registration and determines whether your request for registration is accepted. You will receive a message about this from the relevant GP practice.
I already have a GP in the region, but would prefer a GP closer to me.
Through a GP close by, you can not arrange. When you apply for registration, we will see that you are already registered with in GP in the region. Your registration request will then be automatically rejected.
Why am I not allowed to register with a practice further away?
To provide good care to everyone, GPs want to be able to reach you within 15 minutes. That is why practices give priority to patients from the neighbourhood.
Your GP practice closed, but you want to register your partner/child.
You are already registered and your partner moves here. Or you get a child. If so, practices always try to make room for that. Ask the assistants about the possibilities.
